5 ELEMENTS OF COMPOSITION
The five elements of composition are pattern, symmetry, texture, depth of field, and lines. All 5 of these elements do not need to be in each photograph, but it is up to you what element you decide to include in your photo. Listed below are short description of each element.

  • Pattern
emphasizing the pattern can give you great shots/images.

  • Symmetry
depending on the scenery, using symmetry can either look fantastic in a photo, or it can look terrible.

  • Texture
texture particularly comes into play when light hits objects at interesting angles.

  • Depth of Field
using depth of ground, you can isolate a subject in the background or the foreground.

  • Lines
Lines in a photograph can draw your eyes to the key point. Diagonal, vertical, horizontal and converging lines each impact images in a different way.
